Soc

I had a fun day at school yesterday, but my eye teeth are starting to come in and they were bothering me quite a bit. Ms. Sherri told mom that I just wanted to cuddle all afternoon and was running a little bit of a fever. After school, mom went to play Bunco with her friends, so dad and I relaxed and cuddled. He turned on a soccer game and I snuggled in next to him and pointed at the tv and said "soc". I missed the "r" part, but dad was sooo excited - it was the first thing that he said to mom when she came home! I have a feeling that I am going to be good at this "wrap daddy around your little finger" thing!

School

Here is what I did at school yesterday!
  • Read Chameleon's Colors
  • Looked for green items in our classroom
  • Added green items to green paper to make a collage
  • Brought out our musical instruments and played to the "Rock N Roll Rhythm Band"
  • Rode scooters in gym
  • Learned "green" in Spanish is "verde"
  • Talked about plants
  • Worked on washing our hands properly

"Harper loved spreading glue on the paper with a paintbrush. She enjoys our projects more and more as she participates!"

Holiday Party

Tonight we went to Frederik Meijer Gardens for their Holiday Party. We met up with my cousins and Grandma & Grandpa Hickey and saw all of the different holiday trees decorated. We waited in line to see Santa with a bunch of other kids, but when I got up there Santa looked pretty scary and I cried! After Santa, we walked around and saw the train & village that they had set up then went outside for the tram ride. We took a nice ride around the gardens and saw the sculpture park and all of the trees lit up! When the ride was over, we went inside and listened to the carolers and had cookies. I loved listening to the Christmas music and watching the piano player!

School

Grandma Sheri had a friend in town today and a bunch of meetings, so mom signed me up for an extra day at school. We stayed at home in the morning and mom was going to take me to music class but then my teacher called in sick. We packed up and headed to school and when mom pulled in I said "YAY" and started clapping! I have so much fun at school!
Here is what we did at school today and a note from my teacher!
  • Read a Clifford Magazine article called "Clifford's Favorite Fall Color"
  • Looked at red items in our room
  • Continued to make hand prints for our class turkey
  • Danced with scarves
  • Brought out red markers and crayons to work on our fine motor skills
  • Learned "red" in Spanish is "rojo"
  • Played with our fall sticky tree
  • Worked on forming quiet lines
"Harper was all smiles today! She hugged her friends and tried to feed them (she calls some of them "babies" - very cute!) "

Hunting

This weekend kicked off open hunting season and, even though we don't let dad out to kill Bambi (although he really wishes), we shipped Papa off with his friends and Uncle Alan off hunting and had a nice girls weekend. Friday night we ate dinner with my cousins and played and watched Dorothy in "The Wizard of OZ." Addison's Grandma Thorpe bought her a Dorothy wig and ruby slippers, so we all took turns playing dress up!

Saturday morning we took off to do a little shopping the IHM craft sale. Mom bought me a cute little outfit and grandma bought us girls pink, turquoise & purple wooden cars. They were going to be for Christmas, but she couldn't wait and we played with them on the wood floor when we got home! After some more shopping at the outlet mall, I went over to Grandma Sheri's house to spend some time with her and have a sleepover while mom and dad went to dinner with some friends.
Today, we left dad at home again and went to Grandma Hickey's and made animal puppets and baked gingerbread cookies! We were just finishing up baking our cookies and papa came home - all three of us girls ran up to him yelling "papa" and gave him hugs! We missed him so much!
After we ate a few cookies, we met up with Grandma Sheri and her friend Yvonne for dinner at grandma & grandpa's new restaurant!
