Super Bowl

Last night we went over to Grandma & Papa's house to watch the Super Bowl. I had lots of fun playing with my cousins and I got to eat hummus, pizza, AND cupcakes. I guess there was a football game going on too, but I was having too much fun to notice... well, except when Addi turned the t.v. off and turned the radio on so we could have a dance party - the guys didn't like that too much!

Piano

Remember the piano that Grandma & Papa got me for Christmas? Well, I still love to play with it and I found a singer that compliments my piano playing perfectly. Here we are playing some relaxing Sunday morning music for mom & dad:

Kite

Today we went over to East Grand Rapids to the Reed's Lake Kite Festival. We had some hot chocolate & hotdogs and then went outside to see all of the kites and walk on the frozen lake!

School

Nonna wasn't feeling well today, so I got to go to school and play! We did a bunch of activities to get ready for the Super Bowl this weekend! Mom and dad had a charity event to go to at night, so after school I got to go with my cousins to play with Erin, Megan & Aunt Julie!

• Learned that "ball" in Spanish is "pelota" and also learned how to sign ball
• Built towers and knocked them down with balls
• Decorated football shapes and made pennants
• Had a dance party and practiced our touchdown cheers!
• Played with balls in gym - throwing, catching & kicking!
• Shared special snacks as a "tailgate" party for the upcoming Super Bowl
• What goes up, must come down! We learned about gravity and that balls thrown in the air will come down on us!
• Worked on feeding ourselves our finger foods

"Playing outside was a lot of fun today! We climbed in the tree house & slid down into the snow. We even threw snow at the teachers!"

School

Here is what I did at school!

• Read Old MacDonald
• Put together animal puzzles and made barns out of blocks
• Made barn pictures
• Danced and sang to "Old MacDonald Had a Farm"
• Brought out tumble mats in gym and reviewed our "Stop, drop, and roll" for Fire Safety day
• Practiced signing "love" and learned that love in Spanish is amor
• Looked for animals and animal clues outside
• Worked on sitting in our chairs

Pantry

About a week ago, I discovered that I can fit into our pantry. I was looking for a snack and the next thing mom knew I vanished into thin air (well, I shut the door and didn't make a peep.) Now, one of my favorite things to do is go into the pantry and hang out. Mom gave me a flashlight yesterday and I could have stayed in there for hours!

School

Our weekly theme is animals and here is what we did in school today! We also got a new friend in class today who is allergic to peanuts, so I need to find a new favorite sandwich for lunch!

• Read The Mitten and looked at pictures of groundhogs or wood chucks
• Made a cave out of our tunnel and a blanket and talked about hibernating animals
• Colored a groundhog coloring page
• Danced to "Pop Goes the Weasel"
• Brought our scooters and hula hoops in gym
• Made a group "pop-up groundhog"
• Matched animals in our sensory table to pictures of animals on our posters and books
• Worked on keeping our belongings in our cubbies
